e-Waste(Management), Rules 2022 Govt has now mandated every Importers and Manufacturers of Electronic Good. Manufacturers and Importers have been combined to be known as PRODUCERS.
What is EPR- EPR is Extended Producers Responsibility. Through EPR, companies have the responsibility to collect the e-waste they create and re-use it or recycle it.
Following the principles of carbon emission taxes, Extended Producer Responsibility is a concept where manufacturers and importers of products bear a significant degree of responsibility for the environmental impacts of their products throughout the product life-cycle.
The EPR legislation in India makes it mandatory for companies to establish a collect-back scheme for the Electronic Waste they produce. This means that it is the responsibility of the producer to ensure the products they produce will enter back into the Circular Economy.
WHY DOES EPR MATTER?
If not managed correctly, plastic waste poses a critical threat to our environment. Considering the increased use of the material and its numerous applications, the amount of plastic waste has seen an exponential rise in the last couple of years.
It’s therefore crucial for plastic producers and manufacturers to manage the collection and processing of the plastic waste they produce.
WHY IS EPR REGISTRATION?
All the Importers and Manufacturers will require to have EPR Registration.
Importers will not get their Imported Goods released at customs if you don’t have EPR Registration. For Manufacturers they can’t manufacture and sell in the market if they don’t have EPR Registration.

Scope of Consultancy- You need to submit all the documents within 30 days of Generation of Credentials on the portal. All the documents will be advised immediately after creation of Credentials of the company on the Portal. . |
